One to add to your bucket list is Jacob’s Well. It’s the second-longest fully submerged cave in Texas with a 12-foot wide opening that’s haute to plunge into while the crowds watch and cheer. Diving down with goggles on is a sight to see! Swimming is allowed from May 1 thru September 30 by online reservation only via the website below.

Jacob’s Well Natural Area is a little over 81 acres and an artesian spring that releases thousands of gallons of water a day. Water temperature stays a constant 68°F and the source of the water comes from the Trinity Aquifer, which makes its way from an extensive underground cave system.

Each reservation guarantees two hours of swimming in Jacob’s Well. We suggest making reservations several weeks in advance to guarantee your swimming trip. Reservations are for a specific two-hour time block and guests must show up for the time specified in their reservation.

Wear appropriate footwear – there will be a 15 minute hike to Jacob’s Well from the parking lot and the area surrounding the Well can be steep and slippery. The walk down to Jacob’s Well is not stroller friendly and does involve several sets of stairs.
