Pedernales Falls State Park

Located 13 miles outside of Dripping Springs and 30 miles West of Austin, the Pedernales River flows over and around huge slabs of limestone. Sometimes it can get turbulent but most often it is tranquil, and a great place to relax and recharge. Come over for an afternoon swim or hike, or load up your gear for an overnight adventure. The river awaits!

THINGS TO DO
You can camp, hike, mountain bike, picnic, geocache, bird watch and ride horses. On the river, you can swim, wade, tube or fish. Look for local wildlife and plants at the bird blind and butterfly garden. Visit their website for full details.

Child 12 Years and Under: Free

Untamed Wine Estates

Untamed Wine Estates offers a relaxed atmosphere with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hill Country and a knowledgable staff known for making sure you have unforgettable experience. The owners, Dane and Mckenzie, have produced 31 vintages of wine and millions of cases nationally and internationally before deciding to “break free” from the corporate mold and produce wine for themselves. Their current wine selection is from Monterey, California and can be paired with their small bites and famous artisanal pizzas made in house by owner, McKenzie.

Visit their website for tasting and tour reservations. Walk-ins welcomed for lunch and wine. Located right before Hye as you’re heading to Fredericksburg.

Lewis Wines keep it simple with their world-class Texas wines and beautiful Hill Country setting under the oaks situated on 100 acres just west of Johnson City and 30 minutes east of Fredericksburg. The tasting room is primarily outdoors with excellent views of the Pedernales River Basin and sunset with a laid-back unpretentious tasting experience.

Seasonal tastings are $10/person – reservations are needed.

They are BYOS (Bring your own snacks) so feel free to make it a picnic! Check their website because they often have pop up food events.

Just want to enjoy wines by the bottle or glass – reserve a Picnic Table in the shade under the oaks for $10.

Located four miles west of Johnson City, discover Siboney (See-Bo-NAY) Cellars. Barbara Lecuona, Siboney’s Wine Maker, and her husband, Miguel, built a beautiful new winery tasting room featuring an outside terrace overlooking the vineyard and an intimate member lounge above the the barrel room.

Their full line up of Texas wines feature Sparkling Rosé from the Texas High Plains, elegant whites, and deep reds demonstrating true Texas Terroir. Culinary boards are available and often have fun events like Pig Roasts and their weekly Twilight Tastings serving cubano sandwiches.
